Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about Windows, the Store, trials, and how Wordigo handles your words.
Platform & installation
-
Which devices does Wordigo run on?
Wordigo runs on Windows 10 and Windows 11 PCs. It is not available on Mac, Chromebook, iPad, iPhone, Android, or as a web app.
-
Where do I download Wordigo?
Only from the Microsoft Store. Wordigo is not sold or distributed through this website or any other download site. If you find it elsewhere, it is not a genuine copy.
-
Does Wordigo need the internet?
After installation, you can train and edit lists offline. The Microsoft Store handles install, licensing, and updates separately through Windows.
-
Will it work on a school laptop?
If your school allows installing apps from the Microsoft Store on managed devices, yes. IT policies vary — check with your school if the Store is blocked.
Trial & pricing
-
What does the free trial include?
The full app for 30 days — every feature, no locked modes. After that, a one-time Microsoft Store purchase is required to keep using Wordigo.
-
Is there a subscription?
No. Wordigo is €19.99 once after the trial, through the Microsoft Store.
-
Is there a student discount?
The listed Store price is the price. There are no separate tiers or upgrade paths.
-
Can I use Wordigo on multiple computers?
Licensing follows Microsoft Store rules for your Microsoft account and devices. Word lists are files you can copy between PCs yourself.
-
What if we do not buy after the trial?
The app requires purchase to continue. Your word list files in Documents/Wordigo remain on the device.
-
Is there a family plan?
Not at launch. Each install is licensed through the Store like any other paid desktop app.
Using Wordigo
-
Do I need an account?
No. Open the app and start. No email, profile, or sign-in.
-
Where are my word lists stored?
On your PC as JSON files, typically under Documents/Wordigo. You control backups and copies.
-
How many words can a list hold?
Up to 1,000 word pairs per list in Input Mode.
-
Which languages are supported?
Dutch, English, French, German, Greek, Italian, Latin, Portuguese, and Spanish.
-
Can I import from Excel?
Yes — also CSV, plain text, and Wordigo JSON. Two columns, one pair per row.
-
Why must I type answers?
Typing forces active recall, which sticks better than recognising an answer from a list. That is the core design choice.
Privacy & schools
-
Does Wordigo upload my words to the cloud?
No. Lists and progress stay on the device. The app does not sync study data to BookBeings servers.
-
Is Wordigo suitable for GDPR/AVG?
Because there is no pupil account database, schools often have a simpler story than with cloud learning platforms — but you should review your own policies. See the Privacy page for detail.
-
I am a teacher — how do I share a list?
Send a spreadsheet file. Students import it locally. See the For teachers page for a step-by-step workflow.
